Dear Friends and Colleagues,

I hope you had a good start into the new year - may it be a healthy, happy, and fruitful one!

 

There's been a number of announcements coming in here that I would like to pass on to you. 

Firstly, the Department of Paper and Leather Conservation-Restoration at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun, together with the Polish Institute of World Art Studies warmly invite for their upcoming conference "Textiles in Artifacts. Research-Conservation-Innovation". The conference will take place in Torun on April 15-17, 2026 in The Centre of Contemporary Art Znaki Czasu Torun, Waly gen. Sikorskiego 13, 87-100 Torun. There will be an option to participate in the conference remotely. You can find out more about the conference in the attached pdf. 

 

There is a second conference in Poland, but in Warsaw, under the title "The Past has a Future". It's an archaeology conference, and I have received a call for papers for a session called "Prehistoric Textile Tool Kits: From the Baltic to the Mediterranean". The CfP is open until February 15. Here, too, optional remote attendance is possible, and here, too, more info can be found in the attached pdf.

 

The EAA has opened their call for contributions, which will remain open until February 5. The conference will take place in Athens, Greece, August 26-29 2026. You can find out more at https://www.e-a-a.org/EAA2026/contributions. 
I have also received information about one planned session already: Session #191: "Follow the thread: cross-cultural connectivity and mobility patterns of textile fibers and fiber crops" organised by Nofar Shamir. For this, too, you can find a pdf with information attached.
