Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I have another CfP to share with you: Nina Ferrante (University of Cyprus) and Francisco B. Gomes (University of Lisbon) are organising the PunTex International Seminar, entitled Weaving Knowledge: Experimental Textile Archaeology Between Practice and Method, which will take place on 25–26 September 2026 at the University of Cyprus Campus in Nicosia (Cyprus).
The seminar is promoted within the framework of the PunTex Project (Textile Production in Phoenician-Punic Culture between the 9th and 2nd Century BCE).
The event aims to provide a space for dialogue and discussion among scholars working in experimental archaeology applied to textile production. Across Europe, diverse methodological approaches are being developed, often in parallel; the seminar seeks to reflect on shared principles, comparable practices and transferable methods, while respecting the plurality of research traditions.
The organisers are looking for contributions addressing experimental archaeology connected to textile production — including fibre processing, spinning, dyeing and  weaving — as well as loom reconstruction and tool experimentation. Case studies, ongoing projects, laboratory- or practice-based research, and methodological reflections on documentation, reproducibility and interpretation of experimental results are all encouraged.
Deadline for abstract submission is 15 March 2026.

There is also a SCRIPTO workshop being offered in Vienna, with both German and English as workshop languages. Here is the English description:
Writing History (8th to 16th c.), SCRIPTO Workshop / Summer School Vienna (SWSW). Wednesday, 10 June, to Friday, 12 June 2026 The „narrative of what has been accomplished, whereby what happened in the past becomes known“, as Isidore of Seville (died 636) defines history, has been a literary genre since ancient times. However, in the Middle Ages and early modern period, chroniclers had to find their own ways of recording the past, both in terms of content and medial form. There is another workshop, with stipends, taking place in Leipzig with German as the work language, good Latin knowledge absolutely required. You can read more about how to apply in the attached pdf; deadline for application is April 12. Staying in German language, the KWI is issuing a CfP for articles for their planned blog post sequence on "Fäden - Kulturtechniken der Handarbeit". Deadline for applications is 17.3., please find more information in the file CfP_Fäden_Blogreihe_Reiling. There's also German talks (available for online attendance) in a Studientag of the Archäoparc Schnals on March 3 (again, a pdf is attached for the Studientag programme); you can send an email to info@archeoparc.it to get sent the zoom link.
